Welcome! I’m Dr. Daniel Olavarría – an internationally licensed and credentialed counsellor and psychotherapy practitioner specializing in couples/relationship counselling, and expat support across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Whether you and your partner are struggling due to a rupture in trust, a major life transition, or uncertainty about alignment in goals for the relationship, I help couples gain a sense of deeper clarity that enables them to make meaningful progress toward long-term, sustainable growth. I also offer limited individual therapy sessions for those seeking to address relational patterns or intergenerational trauma.

With over 13 years of clinical experience, I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and my Doctor of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where my research explored intergenerational and historical trauma within the context of psychotherapy treatment.

In the United States, I am licensed to practice psychotherapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 14 U.S. states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont.

In Canada, I am authorized to provide psychotherapy as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada.

Additionally, in countries where there is limited or non-existent regulation for counselling and/or psychotherapy, I hold membership credentials through peer-vetted professional counselling, psychotherapy, and/or social work associations, such as in Belgium, Ethiopia, France, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, South Africa, Spain, and Thailand.
